The Story
Gibby, a young turkey, is super excited about the Autumn Harvest Festival – and especially the feast! It’s a time when everyone in Butternut Bend comes together to give thanks.
Gibby wants to honor her grammy’s memory by continuing her tradition of decorating the table with a symbol for friends, family and love. When Gibby sees the sparkling Heart Rock perched atop Goat Mountain, she’s determined to make it this year’s centerpiece.
But there’s a catch: Stinky Brix, a sneaky raccoon, and his squirrely sidekick scheme against Gibby and her best friend Roni (a speedy rabbit). As they gather pecans for the pies, Gibby narrowly escapes hungry coyotes, losing her beautiful tail feathers in the process.
When Stinky Brix mocks slow Gibby for her missing tail, Roni defends her, issuing a challenge: Gibby and Stinky Brix will race to the top of Goat Mountain for the ultimate prize – the Heart Rock.
Despite Gibby’s self doubt, she trains with Roni only to have their friendship put to the test on race day. As the whole town gathers to cheer on the racers, this premiere fictional origin story of the Turkey Trot phenomenon erupts.
Mixing a blend of humor for ages 5 to 105, Turkey Trot is racing to become THE movie representing autumn and Harvest Festivals all over the world.
